PAINFUL ACCIDENT.
While Mr. E. Martin was engaged in cutting some branches from a macrocarpa tree at his residence in the Avenue, on Saturday, he met with a painful accident. The axe slipped and the blade cut into the knee cap. Medical aid was summoned and the sufferer was subsequently removed to the Palmerston hospital. His injuries are of such a serious nature that lie will probably be incapacitated for some time.
