DRUNKEN MOTORIST.

FINED AND LICENSE CANCELLED. Hamilton, October 25. Convicted of being drunk while in charge of a motor-car, Norman Clifford, a farmer, was fined £2O by Mr. Platts, S.M., in the Morrinsville Court to-day. Clifford’s licensee was cancelled for two years, the Magistrate rejecting counsel’s plea that the car was necessary for Clifford’s business as agent. Counsel asked whether the Magitrate would suspend the cancellation provided Clifford took out a prohibition order. The Magistrate said if this were done and the order faithfully observed the twelve months’ cancellation might be lifted.
