DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC.
Auckland, Yesterday. Edward Williams, aged 47, bridge inspector on the Government railways, while undergoing an operation for quinsy, collapsed under chloroform. At the inquest to-day a daughter of deceased said her father returned home from his holidays on Friday last. He had been ill in Blenheim and since returning he had been very ill and was attended by a doctor. The inquest was adjourned.
