The amount of gas manufactured during the month of August was 369,500 ft., which with the amount in the holder on August Ist 15,000 ft. made a total of 384,500 ft. During the month 312,700 ft. was used by consumers, 20,000 ft. at the works and there was 15,000 ft. in the holder on August 31st, making a total of 347,700 ft. accounted for and leaving’ 36,800 ft. representing 9.5 per cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-four tons of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,838 e.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 6 tons of c-oke.
The receipts for the month totalled £ISO 18s 2d, and were made up as follows: —Gas sales £22 19s Cd, heat and power £l2B 17s lid, coke sales £lO 4s sd, tar sales £5 12s Od, services and fittings £l2 Os lOd, miscellaneous £1 3s 6d. The expenditure for the month totalled £2lO , 10s 4d, and was made up as follows: —'Coal £95 4s Od, salaries and wages £4l 6s Od, services and fittings £7 16s 3d, cartage and freight £2 15s Id, working expenses 1/9, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d.
The gas manager reported that the plant was working quite satisfactorily. The reports were adopted.
