Mr. and Mrs. W. Adams who have been residents of Foxton for some years, have removed to Palmerston North.
Mr. D. Mill, who flew from .Auckland to Blenheim last Saturday in his Moth ’plane passed along this coast, and was seen by local and beach residents when passing over the Heads.
Ensign Hutchins, who for ilhe past seven years has been stationed at Lahore, India, arrived back in New Zealand tin furlough to-day, and will during the next few days be visiting her brother, Mr. H. Hutchins, of Robinson Street. The many Foxton friends of the Rev. W. Raine, who is at present at King George Hospital, Manmer, will hear with pleasure that he is regaining health, though he expects to remain in the hospital for a few months.
Mr. Simmons, local stationmaster, has been transferred to Wanganui and will leave Foxton at the end of the week. The new stationmastjer is Mr. J. Martin, of Wanganui, who, being a married man, will occupy the stationmaster’s residence. The death occurred at Levin on Sunday of one of New Zealand’s pioneer settlers in the person of Mrs. Catherine McKegg, aged 84 years, relict of the late Amos McKegg,'of Otago. The deceased lady was highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends. She leaves a grown-up family, amongst whom are Mr. W. McKegg (Palmerston North), Mrs. S. J. Easton (Foxton), and Mr. Amos McKegg (W anaka). Mr. Amos McKegg, junior, of Palmerston North, is a grandson.
