ENTERTAINMENTS.

TOWN HALL. Edmund Lowe, in “The Wizard,” a mystery melodrama of a particularly compelling tj r pe, will be the attraction at the Town Hall tonight. It is written by Gaston Lerouz, the author of “The Phantom of the Opera,” but is without that story’s lurid strength. Instead, it is a very clever drama, never obvious, always baffling, with many a spontaneous laugh, and a pleasant love story running through the plot. It increases in suspense, thrills and mystery till the climax, never making the mistake of telling the audience in on the plot at any time. Eddie Lowe, as a reporter who calmly understudies for a detective so as to get the better story for his paper, has a role filled with witty sayings and much adventure. Gustav von Seyffert-itz and Norman Trevor also, have important parts. Also “Barnum and Ringlings” (Comedy), Scenic and News. Usual prices. “Bitter Apples,” the Monte Blue starring vehicle for Master Pictures, which comes to the Town Hall on Monday, is a whirling melodrama of vengeance, fights, fury and romance. Myrna Loy plays feminine lead, directed by Harry Hoyt, a film to he seen and remembered for its thrills, its throbs and its big laughing humanity. Usual prices. ROYAL.
