Constable Shannon has received notice of his transfer to Oamaru to fill a vacancy in that town (says the Chronicle). He has been stationed in Shannon about seven years, having come here to assist Constable McGregor when the construction of the Mangahao Hydro Works was in its early stages. During his residence in these parts he has made many friends, who will join in wishing him every happiness and success in his new position.
