MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE.
LORRY DRIVER PLEADS NOT GUILTY. Nelson, Last Night. A ease before the Magistrate’s Court in which Albert Edward Walker, appeared on a charge of manslaughter, in that he did “by omission to perform a public duty” cause the death of Alexander Joss, was concluded to-day. Accused v 7 ho pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence, was committed for trial. The Coroner’s Court was then opened and Mr. Maunsell, S.M., announced his verdict which was “that deceased died of haemorrhage caused by injuries received through his being run down by a motor lorry driven bv Albert Edward Walker, while riding on a pushing bicycle along the main Hope to Richmond road from the South.”
