GAS WORKS.

JULY WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of July was 409,700 ft., which with the amount in the holder on July Ist 15,000 ft. made a total of 424,700 ft. During the month 348,300 ft. was used by consumers, 20,000 ft. at the works and there was 15,000 ft. in the holder on 31st July, making a total of 383,300 ft. accounted for and leaving 41,400 ft. representing 9.7 per' cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-six tons 15 cwt. of coal were carbonised, yielding 11,120 c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 10 tons of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £164 5s 3d and were made up as follows Gas sales (lighting) £33 4s Od, heat and power £lO5 6s 3d, coke sales £lB 9s Bd, tar sales 17/-, services and fittings £4 4s 9d, miscellaneous £2 3s 7d. The expenditure for the month totalled £222 18s 3d and was made up as folloAvs: —'Coal £lO3 4s Id, salaries and wages £SO 14s Od, engine repairs and oil £2 11s lid, cartage and freight £1 is Gd, working expenses £1 19s 6d, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7s 3d. GAS MANAGER’S REPORT.

The gas manager reported that during the month the plant at the works had been working satisfactorily. Consumers requirements, work at the works and several blocked services had been attended to. —Adopted.
