UNUSUAL ACCIDENT.

An unusual accident occurred on Saturday evening. About 7 o’clock Mr. Crawford Johnson, a single man, resident in Foxton, and employed by the N.Z. Shipping Co., ■was walking along Coley Street, ■when a cyclist collided with him. The bicycle had the handle bars in a reversed position and in falling heavily forward Mr. Johnson struck' one of the handles which was unprotected by any grip, and the round metal punched a hole through his lower right cheek. The unfortunate man was removed to Mr. Saville’s residence where he received medical attention prior to being conveyed to the Palmerston North Hospital.
