PRESBYTERIAN LADIES’ SOCIAL GUILD.

The monthly meeting of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Social Guild was held at the residence of Mrs Garbett, Purcell Street, on Wednesday afternoon. After business had been transacted an original competition was taken part in, and two ladies tied for first place, Mrs A. Ross eventually proving successful. A dainty afternoon tea was then dispensed by the hostess, Mrs Garbett. Two most original competitions caused great interest and amusement, Mesdames G. Rough and Knocles carrying off the prizes respectively. The cpiestion of inaugurating an effort in aid of church funds was brought forward, and Mrs A. Ross moved that a meeting be called of church members to discuss what form the effort should take, and when. Mrs J. Ross seconded the motion, which was carried. Before dispersing the president (Mrs Nicholas) moved a vote of thanks to the hostess for the most enjoyable afternoon provided.
