METHODIST CHURCH.

A week’s mission at the Methodist Church conducted by Rev. W. T. Hooper, of Wtaipawa, closed last evening with an address on the second coming of Jesus Christ. The subject was dealt with in an instructive and interesting manner by the evangelist, and was much appreciated by a good congregation. The mission opened last Sunday with two inspiring services, the morning subject being “Religious 'Revival” and a plain gospel address in the evening. On Monday evening the “Influence of the Holy Spirit” was dealt with, showing the different aspects, His work in the church and in the individual Christian. On succeeding evenings “The Power of Prayer,” “The Great Decision,” and “Divine Healing” were ably considered. Mr. Hooper has had great experience as an evangelist and conducts a mission in a praiseworthy manner. He is filled with a passion for souls, and ever seeks to glorify his Lord and Master. Those who heard him will never forget the earnest words and powerful pleadings for the salvation of immortal souls.
