WEDDINGS.

PROCTER—HEASMAN. A quiet 'but pretty wedding- of considerable local interest, was celebrated at the residence of the bride’s mother last evening, when Theliua, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Heasman, was united to John, second son of Mr. and Mrs H. Procter, of Foxton. The Rev. J. H. Edmondson was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her mother, was daintily attired in a charming frock of pink georgette and rainbow lace with the orthodox veil of orange ‘blossoms, and carried a pretty bouquet of pink heath and daphne, while the bride’s mother wore a pretty floral voile frock. Miss Edith Heasman, sister of the bride, charmingly attired in blue georgette and carrying a bouquet of mauve primulas, was in attendance as bridesmaid, and Mr. G .Alexander, an old friend of the family, officiated as best man.

At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at which the usual felicitous speeches were made and toasts honoured. The reception room was delightfully decorated for the occasion with primulas and cherry blossom and presented. a very festive appearance. The happy couple left later by car for the South, where the honeymoon will be spent. On their return Mr. and Mrs. Procter will take up their residence in Foxton. Mr. and Mrs. Procter will carry away with them the best wishes of a large circle of friends in Foxton and the surrounding district. POWELL—DENTON. At the Trinity Methodist Church, Wanganui, on Thursday, Edith Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Denton, Wanganui, was married to William Richard, eldest son of Mr. and. Mrs. R. Powell, Tutaenui, Marton. The bride, who was given away by her father, wove a frock of white chenille georgette, with an old family veil net, and a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet. The .bridesmaids were Miss Marjorie Denton, sister of the bride, wearing a picture frock of primrose georgette, and Miss Nell Powell, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a picture frock of pale green georgette. Messrs A. Gibson and S. Powell, of Marton, carried out the duties of best man and groomsman respectively. Friends of the bride had decorated the church most daintily with spring flowers. The officiating clergymen were the Rev. Jefferson (Johnsonville), and the Rev. Mclvor (Marton). Mrs. E. T. Cox was at the organ. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at which a large number of guests were present.
