BUDGET DEBATE ENDS.
The debate on the Budget was completed in the House of Representatives yesterday. The only speaker was the Minister of Finance (Hon. W. D. Stewart), who traversed a few of the points raised in the discussion. The House then went into Committee on the vote for the Legislative Department, when an amendment by the Leader of the Opposition that the vote be reduced, as a mark of the House’s disapproval of the manner in which the business of Parliament was conducted, gave rise to a long and at times lively debate, wich lasted until after midnight.
