GENERAL ELECTION EXPENDITURE.
The estimated expenditure in connection with the taking of this year’s general election and licensing polls is set out in the estimates. Provision is made for £27,000 as the expenses for taking the general election, and £30,000 for the preparation and printing of the rolls. The expenses in connection with the licensing poll are expected to be £13,000, and those for the licensing committee elections £BOO. A sum of £2OOO is set down as the cost for the formation of new rolls arising out of the alteration of the electoral boundaries.
