Wellington, Last Night.
After a long debate in the House of Representatives last evening on the Religious Exercises in Schools’ Bill, the measure was put to a division shortly after one o’clock and was defeated by 31 votes to 28. The following is the division list: — For the Bill (28) Bellringer, Dickie, J. Mc.C. Dickson, J. F. Dickson, Forsyth, Girling, A Hamilton (Wallace), Harris, Hawken, Hockly, 11.
