RACING CLUB BALL.
UNQUALIFIED SUCCESS,
The Foxton Racing Club’s annual ball, held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, was an unqualified success and proclaimed by those present as the social event of the year. The attendance was large, people being present from all parts of the district. The hall was most artistically decorated in the club’s colours, blue and white streamers together with greenery, vari-coloured balloons and electric lights. A huge bell was suspended from the centre of the hall from which the streamers festooned to the walls. The stage, which was cosily arranged to accommodate non-dancers, was framed in a huge horseshoe, while on exhibition was the handsome silver cup to be competed for at the next meeting of the club. The floor was in excellent condition for dancing and the 150 couples in no way crowded the dancing space. Larkin’s orchestra provided an excellent programme of music. The catering arrangements, which were earned out by Mr. J. \Y;alls, were excellent and the catering of a high standard. The ball in every respect reflected nothing but credit on the club and was proclaimed a most enjoyable function.
