BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP.
HEENEY’S TACTICS,
New York July 19,
A message from Pairhaven states that Tom Heeney has commenced his last week of training, weighing five or six pounds more than he will when he faces Tunney, but the challenger is in excellent condition, and can easily get down to the weight within the short time. His trainers have perfect faith in Heeney and allow him to dictate his own training programme. It is believed that Heeney’s tactics will be to try and chase Tunney into a corner and pound away at close quarters until the champion wilts. The great question is whether Heeney can chase Tunney into a corner, because Dempsey could not. The fight will be broadcasted in New Zealand at 1.30 p.m. on Friday.
