SETTLER’S GRUESOME FIND

Whangarei, July 20. An Otaika settler, living several miles from Whangarei, when burning off scrub this afternoon, made the gruesome of the remains of a male adult in )an advanced stage of decomposition, not. far from the main road. A couple of blankets were about the body. Documents found in the pockets gave his identity as Dominick Nolan, single, a native of Ireland. Deceased was apparently 44 years of age. He was known to have been in New Zealand three or four years with no known relatives in this country. Deceased, who had been 'engaged in general work in the Whangarei district for some time past, had been subject to heart attacks.
