RADIUM SENT TO DESTRUCTOR
£2OO WORTH LOST. Napier, July 17. An unusual case of radium being thrown away was related at a meeting of the Napier Hospital Board. It was reported that after a nurse had taken the radium from a patient’s face she inadvertently threw it into a rubbish bucket, the contents of which were sent to the destructor before the mistake was discovered. It was hoped that the radium could be recovered from the ashes. The radium was worth approximately £2OO,
