SPANISH PLOT.
LONDON, July 12. ' Reports via Bordeaux sfiatc that the Spanish Government has discovered a conspiracy organised by Syndicalists and Communists against King Alfonso and General Do Rivera (the Prime Minister). An attempt was to have been made on their lives at the opening of the tunnel under the Pyrenees, at Canfranc, on July 17. The Press has been asked to minimise the importance of tho conspiracy. It is estimated that there have been over five" hundred arrests, especially in tho provinces of Catalonia and Galicia, and the authorities are continuing apprehending suspects. It is admitted that Communists attempted to undermine t'lie loyalty of the Barcelona garrison. Reports from the Spanish border indicate a widespread plot and wholesale arrests.
