SYDNEY CRIMES.
SYDNEY, July 13. After working strenuously on the Marrickville double murder—at the beginning of this month Mrs Sarah Fa 1vey and her sister, Miss Vaughan, the proprietresses of a shop at Marrickville, were shot by a masked man — the detectives state that they have a definite clue and are trying to locate the missing man They have fairly reliable information as to his movements since the date of the crime. It is understood that the Government’s reward of £suu is bearing fruit and developments are expected shortly. ANOTHER HORROR. The victim of the Sel’ton Park outrage—a young girl early this month was badly knocked about and then leit lying all night in the scrub at Selton Park —has regained consciousness, but her mind is a blank regarding the attack upon her. All she recollects is that the two men were in a shabby double seater ear, the number, or the colour, of which she has no knowledge. Tlie ' detectives are extremely disappointed at tlie futility of their labours. The girl victim told the police that, with a girl friend, she left the factory where she worked at 5.30 in tho afternoon, On their way home they met two men in a motor car who asked them if they would like a vide a.s far as the bus stop. They consented. But la lor the friend left the car, and before the other could follow the men drove quickly away.
