PAYING FOR HIS FOLLY

MAN LOSES CIVIL RIGHTS. Auckland, 12th July. To be deprived of his civil rights for five years was part of the punishment imposed on Frank White, who was charged in the te’s Court with failing to attend military drill. He was also fined £3 and ordered to pay costs. “He has given us a good deal of trouble and does not seem to worry about it,” said Captain Wales, who prosecuted for the Defence Department. “He will have to pay for his folly," said the Magistrate, in imposing the penalties.
