THE LATE MR. D. WHIBLEY.
The funeral of the late Mi’. D. Whibley took place on Thursday afternoon in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. The service was held in All Saints’ Chui-eh at 2 p.m. The casket was X borne by six members of the Foxton Bowling Club, Messrs F. Woods, J. M. Thomson, D. Christie, A. P. Easton, W. S. Heyes (President), and John Ross. The service at the church was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. W H. Walton. In the course of his address, the vicar pointed out that their old friend, known and respected by all, had passed to the Higher Life. During his illness he had displayed wonderful patience and humility to a marked degree. . His faith in Jesus Christ was as > the faith of a child of God. He had no fear of the future. The passing from this life, Mr. Whibley did not fear, for underneath him were the everlasting arms. Mrs. Jackson presided at the organ and the rendering of the musical portion of the simple service added beauty and solemnity to the occasion. . . Amongst those present at, thV~ service was Councillor Spring, a very old friend and fellow bowler. Both were life members of the Foxton Bowling Club.
