CRASH OF AEROPLANE.
INJURIES TO OCCUPANTS,

Advice from Sydney states that the injury to Mr Walter Gaddum, who was a passenger in the aeroplane which crashed, consists of a fractured kneecap. His condition is satisfactory. The pilot was Mr John N. Rookledge, aged 28. He has no connection with the Mr Rutledge to whom Mr Gaddum had letters of introduction. The ’plane was returning to the Mascot aerodrome alter a flight when it got out of control and nose dived in Bourke Street, Auburn. The ’plane turned over and w.as badly smashed, the tail being caught in a fence. No one can explain how the accident happened. The ’plane was a new one and Iho pilot was very capable. Mr Rooklcdge is believed to have sustained a fractured skull. _ The condition of both patients was reported to he slightly better yesterday. Both are suffering from shock in addition to the other injuries.
