EUCHRE TOURNAMENTS
ILLEGAL FOR MONEY-MAKING. Greymouth, Last Night. Two members of the Blaketown Citizens’ Committee were convicted without penalty on a charge of keeping a common' gaming house. Euchre tournaments were conducted to help to pay for the hall, twothirds of the takings being given as prizes. The Magistrate, Mr. Meldrum, said that the Act made no distinction between tournaments run for .jp public or private purposes.
