He trusted that he would be able to carry out his duties to the satisfaction of all and to the benefit of the Club. RESIGNATIONS.
Resignations were received from Messrs E. W. Huntley and R. M. Parkes.
Tn moving that the resignations be accepted with regret, Mr. F. Woods said the Club should place on record the excellent work done by Mr. Huntley in the interests of the Club. Mr. Huntley had held office for many years and had also at one period carried out the duties of secretary in a very efficient manner, and had been responsible for the carrying out of a considerable amount of good work.
The chairman endorsed Mr. Woods’ remarks and said it was a great pity the Club was losing the services of Mr. Huntley. He also regretted the resignation of Mr. Parkes.
It was decided to place on record the good work done by Mr. Huntley during his association with the Club. 'MEMBERSHIP LIST.
The secretary brought up the question of bringing the membership list up-to-date. There were several persons’ names on it, he said, who had never had any intention of members of the club. The club was an incorporated society and could take legal action for the recovery of subscriptions due, and in the event of the club becoming bankrupt the proposer of such members was liable for the payment of the subscription. He was of opinion that more care should be exercised in the nomination of members and such nomination should be on a form and duly signed by. the person desising to become a membes of the club.
It was decided to consider the matter at a future date.
