MAN SENT TO PRISON

Mr. Justice Blair yesterday sentenced iCuthbert Sydney Whyman to three months’ imprisjbnmejit with hard labottr for attempting to extort. money by means of a letter containing a threat from Henry Langguth, a carrier, of Rotorua. His Honour, addressing the prisoner, said that according to the police reports he was an excellent mechanic, but a bad husband. He lol’t his wife and three children to . .-i :i living as best they could, ulhyman luid demanded £2O from Langguth, threatening to accuse him of ordering the destruction of a valuable motor-lorry for the sake of the insurance.
