AEROPLANES FOR GOVERNMENT.
EIGHT ARRIVING IN AUGUST

That the eight Moth aeroplanes which have been ordered by the New .Zealand Government are expected to he in the Dominion by August was announced by Major-General R. Young, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., today. General Young explained that there had been some delay in the order, as the new engine was being fitted to the Moth, and it had been decided to wait until production with this type of engine began before taking delivery of the Moths for New Zealand. Four of the new Moths will he used for training purposes by the New Zealand Government, while two each will he loaned to the (lying clubs at Auckland and Christchurch.
The new engine which is to he lilted to the Moth is a De Havilaml motor of approximately 100 horse-power. It will be more powerful than the Cirrus engine, which has till now been the standard power plant of the Moth.
