DEAD BODY OF MISSING TRAMPER FOUND.
Wellington, Last Night. At about noon to-day the body of Mervyn ITodgkinson, of Petone, who had been lost in the- Orongorongo country since Monday week, was discovered in a gully at the hack of Wninui-o-matn. Overcome by exhaustion liodgkinson had evidently tripped in some undergrowth and had been unable to rise. Only three miles away in the direction in which lie was apparently proceeding lay open country, he would have emeigod from the bush two miles north of the spot at which his companion, Poynter, had reached safely.
