BOY SCOUTS
ENJOYABLE SOCIAL EVENING
There was a large attendance at All Saints’ schoolroom last night on the occasion of a social, arranged by the local Boy Scouts. Among those present were the Girl Guides and a number of parents. The Rev. Wl 11. Walton dealt interestingly with the movement since its inception and referred to the progress made by the boys in the various duties connected with the movement.
Mr. M. E. Ptrreau also made complimentary references to the movement and the good effect it had on the lads.
A very interesting and much ap preciated programme was submitted by the scouts. Items were contributed by Horace Tongs, bugle calls; Gordon Stone gave a recitation, and cornet selections {were well rendered by Bert Reader and Charlie Good. Massey Retter was quite a host in himself and kept his audience amused with cleverly executed sleight-of-hand tricks.
Mr. I. Corn’s moving picture items were much appreciated and those showing local scenes were of special interest. He was accorded a special round of applause. Supper was dispensed and done full justice to, after which games were indulged in by scouts and guides and a jolly lime spent. A most enjoyable time concluded .with the singing of the National Anthem.
