THE MILLIONTH CASE
Wellington, June 7. An interesting event on the wa-ter-front to-day was the shipping by the Shaw, Savil and Albion liner, Tamaroa of the millionth case of apples exported from the Dominion this season. The ceremony was performed by the Minister of Agriculture (Hon. 0. J. Hawken). The final shipments for the season arc being taken by the Tamaroa/Tasmania and Port Dunedin, all of which are to leave the Dominion on Saturday. The provincial totals of the 1928 ■season’s apples and pear shipments are as follows:—Nelson 603,270 cases, Hawke’s Bay 195,360, Otago 82,000, Auckland 66,291, Marlborough 33,044, Poverty Bay 24,259, Wairarapa 13,603, and Canterbury 200 —total 1,018,027.
