DOGS ON RUNNING BOARDS

A PROTEST

Auckland, Yesterday. Jn a letter which was reeftjK'od at a meeting of the Auckland Automobile Association, the Society for ihc Prevention of Cruelty to Animals voiced its objection to the carrying of dogs on the running boards of motor-cars. The society expressed a fear that dogs suffered from cold wind, and were likely to he injured by being thrown off at bends. The society suggested that the association might urge motorists who took dogs with them in cars to stop the practice. The letter was “received” without discussion.
