Auckland, Yesterday. At the S.M. Court, before Mr. Hunt, S.M., William Alfred Mackay, charged with keeping a common gaming house was fined £75, and James Edward Burtenshaw with assisting Maekay was fined £4O. Both accused pleaded guilty and had been previously convicted. Charles Howard Chamberlain, charged with bookmaking pleaded guilty and was fined £75. DUNEDIN PROSECUTION. Dunedin, June 6. At the City Magistrate’s Court this afternoon James David Pearson appeared befort Mr. J. M. Bartholomew, S.M., on a charge of keeping a common gaming-house at 116 George Street. Pearson was remanded until Saturday. Bail was allowed in own recognisance of £SO and one surety of £SO. .
