EXCHANGE TEACHERS

AN IMPORTANT CONFERENCE

Wellington, May 28,

An important conference will be held to-morrow between the Minister of Education (Hon. R. A. Wiright) and the principal officers of the Department of Education on the subject of the exchange of teachers, and the question of substitute assistants.

The conference will be attended by representatives of the Education Boards, Educational Institute, Headmasters Association, Women Teachers’ Association and the Wellington School Committees’ Association.

The question of training teachers in the Training College without reasonable prospect of their getting employment at the close of training will be discussed also.
