ARREST OF SAMOAN CHIEF.

A message from the Adminstrator of "Western Samoa to the Minister of External Affairs (Rt. Hon. ,T. G. Coates), states that the arrest on Sunday morning, by civil and military police, of a Man chief named Leotu, wanted on a charge of threatening to kill, was resisted and resulted in a small conflict between the police and Mail natives. The arrest was effected without injury to the police. A number of minor casualties occurred among the Samoans, but.it is believed that none are serious. Subsequent to the incident Tamaisese, the Man leader, and other Mau chiefs saw the Administrator and accompanied him on an inspection of the injured natives.
