Resorting to the cleverest ruse ever used in the profession, two gangs of crooks from New York’s underworld invade the haunts of millionaires in the latest UniversalJewel production, “Cheating Cheaters,” to be shown at this theatre to-night, when they endeavour to stage a great jewel robbery under a cloak of innocence. Betty Compson plays the most intriguing role of her career when she vamps Kenneth Harlan, and she alone is responsible for the much-tangled affair which .makes this picture so exceedingly interesting from the opening title to the final fade-out. Romance, comedy and thrills galore make up one of the greatest combinations ever introduced in a crook production. Also “Oh Taxi” (Comedy), British News and Scenic. Usual prices.

Miss Haver portrays a beautiful Countess, a confidant of Napoleon, for in Doyle’s “Adventures of Gearard,” Miss Haver, while on an important mission for Napoleon, encounters La Rocque in the little rural village of Andorra in the Pyrenees. He is an inn keeper’s grandson, and loves to fight. Circumstances require that she enlist La lioeque’s aid, and lie is involved in her mysterious activities. Later through his bravery and daring he wins the heart of the Countess and the sincere friendship and gratitude of Napoleon. Prices 1/- and 1/G>. Children half price.
