WEDDING
MARTIN— GRIFFIN
A quiet wedding, of interest to Foxton residents, Avas solemnised at All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, yesterday afternoon by Canon Fancourt, when Ethel May, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Griffin, Russell Street, Foxton, was married to John Charles Martin, only son of Mrs. Burr, of Palmerston North. The bride who Avas attired in a costume of fuschiaeoloured charmaine with hat to tone and carrying a bouquet of pink roses and mauve chrysanthemums, was given away by her brother, Mr. G. Griffin, of Palmerston North. The bride Avas accompanied !>v her sister, Miss D. Griffin, Who , was attired in a beige repp coat frock, and hat to match and also carried a bouquet of autumn tinted chrysanthemums. Mr. S. Carter, of Palmerston North, ably carried out the duties of best man. The reception was held at BroadAvay Lounge, where the usual toasts were honoured. The presents were numerous, including several substantial cheques. The happy couple left by car for the south, where the honeymoon Avill be spent. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Martin will take up their residence in Foxton.
