FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB. A committee meeting of the Foxton Football Club was held in Walls’ Rooms last night, presided over by the President (Mr. H. Hutchins). Also present were Messrs W. Culirie, J. K. Hornblow, C. Procter, C. Rand, A. Walls, T. Tuna, W. Neville, R. Cochrane, D. Christie and the secretary (Mr. R. Hornblow). The President mentioned that the Union was prepared to grant Foxton the Manawatu rep. fixture, but said that Rangitikei had put in a challenge for the Shield and were desirous of having the match played in Foxton. It was now for the Foxton Club to decide which game they would have. Mr. W'. Neville favoured Foxton taking the Rangitikei game if possible. It would have to be played within three weeks of the challenge being placed, and being the first match of the season should prove a good draw-. It was decided to make application to the Union for the Rangitikei match.

The question of a suitable ground for the match was discussed, and it was decided to have it played on No. 1 ground on the racecourse, and Messrs C. Procter, H. Hutchins, R. Cochrane and W. Neville were elected a grounds committee with power to expend what money was thought necessary to put the ground in order. Messrs D. Christie and J. K. Hornblow offered to provide the necessary flags for the ground. Managers and coaches for the senior team were appointed.

It was decided that the committee present the school with their jerseys on the Wednesday following- the vacation. It was decided to hold a shop day on the day of the rep. match. The question of padding the goal posts, etc., was referred to the grounds committee. Accounts amounting to £6 16s 6d were passed for payment.
