That academical qualifications do not always .provijde the high road to success for primary school teachers was made evident in a discussion. at to-day’s meeting of the Auckland [Education Board. An appointment to a position was under notice and one of the applicants, was the holder of University d< jgree. During the discussion Mr. H. S. W. King remarked: “Wle have had case aftjtir case of brilliant scholars getting high degrees and turning out failures as teachers.” Mr. Banks said.educational qualifications must always be taken notice of when these appointments were under consideration.
