ANZAC DAY.
TO-MORROW’S CELEBRATIONS
Anzac Day will be fittingly celebrated to-morrow, and the following programme will be observed: — 10 a.m. —Short service at the District High School. 11 a.m.—Service at All faints’ iChurch. 2.30 p.m. —Memorial service in the Town Hall. Address by Chaplin-Captain Stewart. 7.30 p.m.—Service at Oroua Downs Hall. A notification to all returned men, South African Veterans and members of all branches of the Imperial Forces re parade appears elsewhere in this issue. A retiring collection will be taken up at’ the conclusion of the service in the Town Hall. The laying of wreaths at the Soldiers’ Memorial will follow' the service at the Town Hall to be followed by the playing of the “Garland of Flowers” by the Foxton Silver Band. The “Last Post” 'will be sotlnded by Sergt.-Bugler B. J. Walls. The public are cordially invited to attend all the services. THE KING’S MESSAGE. Auckland, Last Night. The Governor-General has been commanded by His Majesty the King to communicate to the people of New Zealand on the occasion of Anzac Day the following message from His Majesty: “On this solemn day consecrated to the memory of those who died so nobly at Gallipoli the thoughts of the Queen and myself are with my people of Australia and New Zealand and our hearts go out in sympathy to all who gave their loved ones. —George Rex.”
