DORCAS SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Poxton Dorcas Society was held on Tuesday afternoon and was presided over by the Rev. W. H. Walton. There were also present: Mrs. P. Robinson (president), Mrs. McMurray (lion, secretary), Rev. J. Edmondson, Mesdames Walton, •Christie, R. Moore, A. Stone, Edmondson, W, H. Nicholas, Lieutenant Appat, and Miss A. M. Williams. The chairman welcomed
Rev. J. Edmondson and his wife, who have taken up their residence in Poxton in charge of the Methodist Church.
In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman outlined some of the work of the Society. During last winter various members had proi vided hot soup for the children coming long distances to school, or tor other reasons had to stay at school for lunch. Other work of a useful nature had been carried out, and cases of distress alleviated. \
The balance-sheet was then adopted. Miss Williams expressed on behalf of the headmaster (Mr.'F. A. Mason), and herself, appreciation of the help given by the Society.
The election of officers resulted as follows: —'President, Mrs. P.
Robinson; vice-president, Mrs. Christie; lion, secretary, Mrs. W. PI. Walton; members, Revs. W. H. Walton, W. H. Nicholas, J. Edmondson, Father McDermott, Mesdames Nicholas, .Edmondson, A. Ross, R. Moore, C.- Desmond, G. Stone, M. Perreau, Misses J. Ross, A. M. Williams, Ensign Rawcliffe and Lieut. Eppatt. Investigation committee, Revs. W. H. Walton, W. H. Nicholas, J. Edmondson, and Ensign Rawcliffe. An apology for absence was received from Rev. W. PI. Nicholas.
