UNITED PARTY CANDIDATES.

MR. McMANAWtAY FOR MANAWfATU. Wellington, April 20. The following candidates have been approved by the United New Zealand political organisation, and will be supported by it at the forthcoming elections: —(Dunedin, Messrs W. B. Taverner, J. Louden and H. E. Moller; Awarua, Mr. P. de la Perelle; Manawatu, Mr. H. J. D. McManaway; Waikato, Mr. F. Lye; Waitomo, Mr. W. J. Broadfoot. The Dominion organiser, Mr. Davey, states that selection committees are at work in Christchurch, Dunedin and Auckland, and a further list of candidates will be published shortly. Mr. H. J. D. McManaway was formerly a well known Reform supporter. In 1919 Mr. McManaway was offered by the late Mi’. Massey the nomination for the Rangitikei seat. Mr. McManaway has .been many years in the Manawatu and Rangitikei districts, and during that period has been actively associated with public bodies and sporting institutions. He has been a member of the Hunlerville Town Board, director of the Rata Dairy Company, steward of the Marton Jockey Club, member of the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board, and chairman of the Bulls Town Board. Other candidates mentioned for Manawatu are Messrs J. H. Taylor (Labour), and P. J. Small (Liberal).
