THE BULLS BRIDGE.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Manawatu County Council the action of Urs. J. H. Perrett and W. Pearce who represented the Council at a conference with the Rangitikei County Council in connection with repairs to the Bulls Bridge, was confirmed. The total cost of the repairs will be £2,700 and the work is now in hand. The bridge which spans the Rangitikei river is controlled by the Rangitikei County Council. The chairman (Mr. W. E. Barber) referred to the Council’s unfortunate position in the matter of bridges and stated that its obligations on account of bridges were going to be heavy. There was the new Shannon structure, "the Bulls bridge, the renewal of the Aorangi bridge and also the Oroua bridge at Awahuri. The Aorangi structure was in a similar state of disrepair as that of the Bulls bridge whilst the life of the Oroua bridge could''not be considered as secure beyond a very few years.
