EKETAHUNA HIGH SCHOOL

, DESTROYED BY FIRE. Eketahuna, April 13. The Eketahuna District High

School, consisting of five class rooms and science room, with contents, including all school records and valuable curios and books, the property of the headmaster, was totally destroyed by fire at 8.30 this evening. When discovered the fire was right through the interior of the building, and the fire brigade could do nothing but save the adjoining shelter shed.

The origin of the fire is tj, complete mystery but it is believed to have originated in the .science room. The headmaster left at 5.30 p.m. when everything appeared quite safe. The caretaker was there later. The primary school building, some distance away, remained intact. The insurances are unobtainable.
