FOXTON COMBINED BAND OF HOPE.

There was an excellent attendance at the first meeting this year of the combined Band of Hope, which was held in the Presbyterian Sunday Schoolroom last Fridap evening. Mr. W. H. Nicholas presided and the meeting opened with the singing of the Temperance hymn and prayer. Mrs Peryman gave a brief address which was listened to with close attention. The speaker urged the children to be Workers and expressed the hope that when she again visited Foxton she would find the membership list greatly increased.

Rosie Munn was elected secretary and Horace Tongs treasurer. The following children contributed musical, vocal or elocutionary items during the evening:—'Ula Thomson, Joan and Shirley Barron, Horace and Phyllis Tongs, Joan Young, Joan Cowley, Madge King, Myrtle Hughes and Rosie Munn. Mr Nicholas, on behalf of the Band of Hope, expressed the regrpt of all present at Mrsf Peryman’s departure from Foxton. He wished both Mr and Mrs Peryman every success and happiness in their new home.
