Frederick John Vicks, of the Wairarapa, was fined £2O by Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., in the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for being drunk in charge of a motoroar in Ridgway Street) and he was declared unfit to hold a driver’s license, for twelve months. Sergeant Sivyer said accused was seen by two constables driving the car, and he nearly had a collision. Accused said he had some drinks, but was not a drinker. He asked that his license be not cancelled, but a prohibition order be issued. “What’s the use of a prohibition order when you say you are not a drinker?’’ asked the Magistrate.
