LABOUR MAYOR FOR GISBORNE
Gisborne, March 23. The election for the Mayoralty caused by the death of Mr. C. E. Armstrong resulted in tlie return o D. W. Coleman (Labour) with 1760 votes, who beat J. Blair, Deputy Mayor (Citizen’s candidate); 1737, and A. W|ade (Citizens’ candidate), 951.
