DEATH FOLLOWS RECAPTURE.
ESCAPED PRISONER’S END,
Auckland, March 19. The recapture of a prisoner who had escaped a year ago was followed by bis death at the Auckland Central Police Station early yesterday morning. The prisoner was Wjilliam Alfred Robert Fussell, aged 29, who, when undergoing treatment at Christchurch Hospital early last year, during the currency of a substantial sentence, left the institution and was not traced until his arrest in High Street, Auckland, on Saturday afternoon. He is believed to have been in Auckland for a considerable time. Fussell received medical attention after bis arrest on Saturday. The cause of death was heart failure.
