ENTERTAINMENTS.
TOWN HALL. The programme to be given by the Artillery Band on Friday night (in 'conjunction rvith the Town Hall pictures), promises to be a unique event for Foxton picturegoers. Included in the specially selected programme Avill be a grand musical sketch, entitled “A Trip to Blackpool,” depicting folk songs/' minstrels (sung by the full band), ball room scenes, etc. Descriptive piece “A Sunday Parade,” Avhich' opens with a beautiful early morning scene Avith birds singing, the clock chimes, trumpet fanfares, organ effects, terminating Avith the spirited finale from the opera “William Tell.” Also by special request the triple tongueing polka “Besses of the Barn,” by Sergt. BoAvinan and Bandsman Houchen. This Avill be the band’s final performance in Foxton this year. The picture to be screened is the special feature “The Road to Romance,” a story of adventure among the Caribbean pirates, in Avhich Ramon Novarro, who became famous as “Ben Hur” plays lead. Prices for this fine entertainment 1/- and 2/-. Children half price. On Saturday “The Secret Studio” a drama of the artists and models quarters of a big city will head the list. Olive Borden is the featured player. Prices as usual.
ROYAL. “Sky High Saunders,” the first of a series of four melodramatic air films starring A 1 Wilson, the screen’s greatest stunt and trick aerial artist, will be screened at .the Royal theatre on Saturday. This breath-taking, hair-raising Universal-Western .air-plane picture provides the grdat air star Avith every chance to display not only his prowess as a stunt flyer but also his splendid acting ability. Running a bandit flyer to earth and staging a, fistic duel on the wing o 5 a plane tAVo thousand feet in the air are just two of the many gripping scenes in store for thrill seekers. The star has a Avonderful supporting cast, consisting of Elsie Tarron, Frank Rice, Bud Osborne, and Frank Tomiek. The picture was directed by Bruce Mitchell. With “Stop Snookums” and latest Ncavs. Prices 9d and 1/6. Children 3d and Gd. Milton Sills latest starring feature “Framed,” will be screened next Wednesday, whilst announcement is made of "the early screening of Syd. Chaplin’s scream “Oh! What a Nurse.”
